The practice of Ian Bowman, architect and conservator offers services in all aspects of built heritage conservation.  These include;

    individual buildings or groups of buildings.

Ian can prepare district plan heritage inventories and rules, consent assessments and design guidelines for local authorities.  He is an experienced expert witness in district plan and environment court hearings.

As a registered architect, Ian combines conservation advice with the architectural services of design, documentation, contract administration and contract observation for additions and alterations to heritage buildings as well as the design of new buildings adjacent to heritage buildings.

Specialist areas of expertise include the conservation of raw and fired earth and stone building conservation, urban conservation planning, conservation in seismic zones and historic colour analysis.
